Vendor Application

Thank you for your interest in participating in Chatham’s Etsy: Made in Canada Day craft market! We are accepting vendor applications until Friday, July 18^th, 2014. Shortly after, the applications will be reviewed and approved vendors will be contacted via e-mail with payment and contract information.

To be eligible to be a vendor at this craft market, you must have an Etsy Shop. It must be active, with at least 5 items. This requirement has been set by Etsy Canada.

If you do not currently have an Etsy shop, you can open one by visiting www.etsy.com/promotions and entering the promo code ChathamKent to get 20 free listings. You do not need to be a member of the Chatham Kent Etsy Team. If you have any questions or concerns about opening your shop, please feel free to contact us.

Market Details

• ·      This market will be taking place on Saturday, September 27^th, 2014. This date cannot be changed.
• ·      It will be held outdoors at King Street Commons at the Downtown Chatham Centre in Chatham, ON. If it rains, we are able to hold the market inside the mall.
• ·      The market will run from 8:00AM-4:00PM. Set-up begins at 7AM and takedown at 4PM.
• ·      Every item for sale must be handmade or vintage and comply with Etsy’s values and policies.
• ·      The Downtown Chatham Centre (DCC) can provide us with a limited number of tables, but it is recommended that you bring your own tables, chairs, tents, etc.
• ·      Electricity is available to a limited number of vendors.
• ·      We are marketing this event as a family-friendly and we would like all vendors and items to reflect this.
• ·      The table cost for this event is tentatively set at $30, which includes the venue cost and insurance.  This amount may increase slightly, depending on how many vendors apply.
• ·      This is a great opportunity to sell your handmade items at a market alongside Etsy’s branding!

Vendor Rules

• The following rules were set by the venue (Downtown Chatham Centre).
•  The vendor will be set-up completely and open for business no later than 8:00am on Saturday, September 27^th, 2014.
• The vendor agrees to conduct business upon or within the Licensed Area during ALL hours between 8:00am – 4:00pm. All loading and unloading of goods shall be done only outside of these hours in areas and entrances designated by the DCC.
• The vendor will ensure that all signage is professional. Sloppy freehand signs are not allowed. Any signed deemed unacceptable by the DCC will be immediately removed.
•  If you give out samples of food, or anything that creates waste, the vendor will ensure that a clearly visible trash bin will be nearby for patrons to use. A small-medium sized trash bin is recommended. Trash cannot be deposited into garbage containers on DCC property.
•  The backs of displays must be aesthetically appealing and all cartons and extension cords are to be kept out of sight, beneath draped tables or hidden inside the walls of the display.
•  Tables used in the Licensed Area must be draped to the floor on all four sides in approved flame-retardant fabric.

Are you able to bring your own tent, table, chairs, etc.? The venue has a small amount of tables for use.

Do you need electricity? There are a couple spots available with close access to an outlet. These spots will be given out on a first come, first served basis.

We will be holding a raffle for door prizes at this event. If you are interested in contributing an item for this raffle, what type of item are you willing to donate? Participation is optional, but this can be a great opportunity to showcase your work and drive business to your table.

If accepted as a vendor, you will be required to sign a vendor contract. This contract will outline your responsibilities as a vendor, such as setting up and taking down your booth by a certain time, being present at your table, being responsible for your booth and items, etc.
